Hosting Events and Multiplayer Games
Clover offers two fantastic ways to engage your community: automated Events (a sequence of mini-games) and standalone Multiplayer Games. Here is everything you need to know about setting them up and managing them.
🏆 Automated Events
An Event is a custom, automated marathon of mini-games. As the organizer, you pick the games and the length, and Clover will run them back-to-back automatically without you needing to do anything else!
How Events Work
When you set up an event using .event command, you get to customize two main things:
- Game Selection: You can choose a maximum of 5 different mini-games to include in a single event.
- Total Rounds: You decide how many total questions/rounds the event will last.
- Free Version: Up to 20 rounds.
- Premium Version
: Up to 40 rounds.
The Flow: Clover will start the first game you selected, then the second, and so on. Once it finishes the sequence of your chosen games, it will loop back to the beginning and repeat them until the total number of rounds you set is completely finished.
How to Stop an Event
If you need to end an automated event before it finishes all its rounds, you can force it to stop:
- The Command: Type
.stopin the event channel. - Requirement: The person using this command must have on of the designated Stop Event Roles.
- 📖 Learn More: Discover how to set up this permission in the General Settings or Channels if you have a dedicated games channel.
🎮 Multiplayer Games
Unlike events, Multiplayer Games are massive, single-match games that start immediately as soon as you trigger them. They are perfect for bringing the whole server together for one big activity at a specific time.
Requirements to Host
To prevent spam, regular members cannot start multiplayer games.
- Requirement: The person starting the game must have an assigned Event Organizer Role.
- 📖 Learn More: Discover how to set up this permission in the General Settings or Channels if you have a dedicated games channel.
- Navigate to Multiplayer games to learn more about it.
How to Stop a Multiplayer Game
If you need to stop an active multiplayer game, you have two simple options:
- Delete the Message: You can simply delete the game message sent by Clover to end it immediately.
- Use the Command: Type
.stopin the channel. (Just like with events, the user typing this must have the Stop Event Role).
- 📖 Learn More: Discover how to set up this permission in the General Settings or Channels if you have a dedicated games channel.
