Cannot find Clover's slash commands?

If you type / and Clover's commands are not appearing in the menu, it is usually caused by a simple permissions issue or a Discord client glitch.

Here are the most common reasons and how to fix them instantly:

1. Missing Invite Scopes (Most Common)

When the bot was originally invited to the server, the specific permission required to create slash commands might not have been granted.

  • The Fix: Kick Clover from your server, then re-invite it using the official invite link. Ensure that the applications.commands box is checked during the authorization step!

2. Missing "Use Application Commands" Permission

Discord requires users to have a specific permission to interact with bots via slash commands.

  • The Fix: Go to Server Settings > Roles (or check specific Channel Permissions) and make sure the Use Application Commands permission is turned ON for your role.

3. Discord Client Glitch

Sometimes, Discord simply fails to sync the command list for a server, especially right after a new bot joins.

  • The Fix: Refresh your Discord app. On PC, press Ctrl + R (or Cmd + R on Mac). On mobile, completely force-close the app and reopen it.

4. Integration Settings

Server admins have the ability to restrict bot commands to specific roles or channels using Discord's built-in integration menu.

  • The Fix: Go to Server Settings > Integrations > Clover. Check to see if commands have been accidentally restricted or disabled for your role.

5. Too Many Bot Integrations

Discord imposes a strict limit on the number of bots that can have active slash commands in a single server (currently capped at 50 bots).

  • The Fix: If your server has a massive amount of bots installed, Discord simply will not load slash commands for any new bots that join. You will need to kick inactive or unused bots to free up integration space, and then kick and re-invite Clover so its commands can properly register.
